The church seeks to provide a food
shelf for Hugo area residents. Pastor Sparby and the parishioners have seen an increase in the number of
Sunday parishioners and they now want to begin a worthwhile community service project. City staff
reviewed this opportunity with City Attorney Dave Snyder and he concurred that this is legal and within
the terms and conditions of the Lease Agreement between the City and Hosanna Lutheran Church.
Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the Hosanna Lutheran Church food shelf that will
operate out of the adjacent mobile trailer one day a week, between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm, starting March
1, 2004. Staff was directed to send letters to the other churches informing them of this new community
service. All aye. Motion Carried.
