MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL. MEETING OF JULY 6. 1998 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fran Miron at 7:10 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Arcand, Barnes, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />City Attorney, Greg Galler <br />City Engineer, Tom Angus <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />Advertise for Bids (road graveling) <br />Inter -State Lumber Letter <br />Landscape architect for City park <br />Goiffon made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />Minutes for the City Council meeting of June 15, 1998 <br />Minutes for the City Council meeting of June 29, 1998 <br />Minutes for the City Council meeting of June 30, 1998 <br />Firefighter Appointment <br />WCS&W Contract <br />Lions Letter <br />Variance (Miner) <br />Charitable Gambling License (Dead Broke Saddle Club) <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIREFIGHTER APPOINTMENT <br />The Council considered a recommendation from Joe McMahon, Fire Chief, to appoint Kurt Grainger, <br />14451 Glenbrook Avenue, as a firefighter on probationary status, following successful completion of a <br />physical examination. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved appointment of Mr. Grainger as a <br />firefighter. <br />WCS&W CONTRACT <br />The Council considered an Agreement between Washington County Soil and Water Conservation <br />Service and the City of Hugo for the provision of technical assistance and administration of the Wetland <br />Conservation Act. Under the Agreement, the WCS&W will review and monitor applications under the <br />Wetland Conservation Act, and make recommendations to the City Council on such applications. The <br />City Council will remain the local government unit for administration of the Act. This service will be <br />provided to the City at no cost. Staff recommended approval of the Agreement subject to the draft <br />contract be changed to read City of Hugo and adding a termination date of December 31, 1999. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Agreement as proposed. <br />HUGO LIONS CLUB LETTER <br />The Council considered a letter to the Hugo Lions Club informing them of the City's intent to construct <br />a new children's playground at the City Hall Park, and asking them to participate in its design.
