PRESENT: Barnes, Brunotte, Leroux, Miron, Stolt man City Administrator, Bob Museus City Engineer, Howard Kuusisto City Finance Officer, Ron Otkin City Clerk, Clary Ann C:reager Barnes made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the minutes for the regular City Council meeting of January 4, 1993, as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the claims for the City Council meeting of January 19, 1993, .in the'amount of $58,201.84. All aye. Motion Carried. IN -PROGRESS REVIEW OF WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS Jack: Griffin, representing Kuusisto Engineering, presented the Council with an update of the City's 1993 Water System Improvement Project. Advertisement for bids have been published for the water tower, with the bid opening scheduled for Thursday, January 28th, at :00 PM. Plans and specs for the we.11 are scheduled to be completed at the end of February. Ron Otkin, City Finance Director, also presented an update on the City's financing plan for the improvements. 199=/94 P'ROP'OSED COUNTY ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS The County Engineer's office informed the City that they have four road improvement projects scheduled for 1993, and one road improvement project planned for 1994. 1993 projects include: 1. Overlay and reconstruction of the intersection of CSAH 8, west of Highway 61, to the county line on Elmcrest Avenue. 2. Rebuild County Road 4 from Ingersoll Avenue to County Road 15. 3. County Read 54 will be paved as part of the county's plan to turn back this road to the City. 4. Improvements are scheduled to the intersection of County Roads 7 and 9 to create a standard 90 degree turn. The proposed project for 1994 .is a rebuilding of County Road BA from Highway 61 east to Goodview Avenue, at a total estimated cost of $670,000, with the City's share of this project to be between $112,000 and $130,000. The County may not have the funding to complete this project. in 1994, and the City Engineer :is coordinating the water main improvement along this stretch of road with the County Engineer. Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, that the: Cit;: of Hugo pursue the County Road BA improvement project, and the City Administrator work with the County to coordinate this project with the City's water main improvement project.
