I"_INUTES OF T= PROCE jINGS OF THTC HUGO PLANNING COI`IT,'IISSION AUGUST 11, 1976 7'ublic Hearing - LaCasse The public hearin for the purpose of considering the application of Tom and Arthur haCasse for rezoning of a 37 acre --parcel from Con- servancv to Agricultural, was opened at 7:37 P.M. by Chairman Spitzer. Present were Spitzer, Rosenquist, Peloquin and Peltier. Also attending was Bill Schwab, „ashington County Planner. The official notice of the public heari�z was read by Chairman Spitzer. h1r. Thomas LaCasse explained he has built a new home for hipself on the 37 acre parcel, now wishes to have the entire 37 acres rezoned from Conservancy to 2'.-ricultural, so that his home would occupy a fifteen_ acre parcel, anti his father would still have two building sites left. He explained that the land to the north and to the east of the property is zoned agricultural. Peloquin stated that tile land in question is high and dry. Greg Cardinal, 5756* N. 1"5th Street, stated that everyone that owns forty acres should have the right to subdivide his land. He said he feels that whether a Baan owns 5 acres or 200 acres, he'should be entitled to divide it. Spitzer said the `.lashington County Flood Plain ;-Tap indicates that -there is a flood hazard on a couple hundred feet of the above mentioned property. Schwab asked is there are any soils information available on the property. Spitzer said no. Peltier said LaCasse ;ants to buy fifteen acres from his father, and he only needs ten for an agricultural zoning, and asked what he intended to do with the remai:n.ing five. LaCasse said he hasn't sure - '.�e might sell the other .five to Howard I'lelinc for pasture.
