MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY -1.8, 1992 The meeting was called to order by Mayor- Stolt man at 7:00 PM. PRESENT: Barnes, Brunotte, LeroUX, Miron, Stolt man City Administrator, Bob MUseUS City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager Miron made motion, Stolt man seconded, to approve the minutes for the City Council meeting of May 4, 1992, as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. Barnes made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the claims for May 18, 1992 in the amount of $82,057.36. All aye. Motion Carried. CHARITABLE GAMBLING LICENSE (HUGO LIONS CLUB) The Hugo Lions Club has requested a one -day, off-site gambling license to sell pull tabs at the Hugo City Park during Good Neighbor Days, June 6, 1992. Approval requires motion to approve application and waive the 30 -day waiting period. Leroux, made motion, Brunotte seconded, that the City of Hugo has no objection to the issuance of a One -Day, Off -Site Lawful. Gambling License to the Hugo Lions Club during Good Neighbor Days, held in the Hugo City Park on June 6, 1992, and waiver of the 7.0 -day waiting period. All aye. Motion Carried. AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL_ SERVICES (COUNTY ROAD J IMPROVEMENTS) The City of Hugo entered into a Joint Powers Agreement with the Town of White Dear in December, 1988, for the purpose of improving County Road J (120th Street). Paragraph D of the Agreement requires each municipality to acquire the necessary right-of-way easements within their guidelines for project construction. As the majority of the required easements are located in White Hear Township, and in order to gain efficiency through avoiding duplication of effort, an Addendum to the Agreement has been developed to have the Town of White Hear provide the leqal services required to obtain the easements within the City of Hugo. Total cost for such legal work is estimated to be $3,000 - $4,000, although these ci�sts could be substantially higher if eminent domain proceedings are required. Ler•oUX made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the AddendUM to Joint Powers Agreement dated December 30, 1988, between the Town of White r�eai and the City of Hugo, after the changes r•ec^mmended by Hugo's Cxty, Attorney, Charles Johnson, have been made. The Mayor- .is author•i-ed to sign said Addendum on behalf of the City of*Hugo. All aye. Motion Carried.
