<br /> <br /> <br />Meeting held remotely pursuant to MN Statute Sec. 13D.021. <br />ZOOM Meeting ID # 865 0319 5286 <br /> <br />Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL PRESENT REMOTELY: Haas, Klein, Miron, Petryk, Weidt <br />OTHERS PRESENT REMOTELY: City Attorney Dave Snyder, City Engineer Mark Erichson, <br />Community Development Director Rachel Juba <br />PRESENT AT CITY HALL: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Clerk Michele Lindau <br /> <br />Minutes for the April 20, 2020, City Council Meeting <br /> <br />Klein made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the minutes for the Council meeting held on <br />April 20, 2020, as presented. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Update on COVID-19 City Response <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear provided a recap of what had been happening on the City level <br />since the beginning of the pandemic, stating things have been going smoothly. City services and <br />City staff remained available. Meetings were taking place virtually, and he reviewed the <br />requirements for that and explained how the public can participate. All essential public services <br />were being maintained. The City was following public health experts’ advice. There had been <br />50 Governor’s orders so far, and the City was using them as guidance. The Stay at Home Order <br />was extended to May 18. Some businesses in Hugo were open, and outdoor recreation areas <br />were open with guidelines. Staff had been working remotely, but Public Works’ employees <br />were getting back to their regular shifts this week with guidelines to minimize contact among <br />employees. The Lions Club was considering whether to cancel or possibly postpone Hugo Good <br />Neighbor Days in June. Property taxes were due May 15, but late penalties would be waved for <br />60 days. Street projects were moving forward as well as the water tower project, which was <br />expected to be completed in October. Bear encouraged small businesses to go to the Washington <br />County Community Development Authority for information on business resources and the Open <br />to Business Program.
