STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: January 7, 2025 <br /> CONSENT <br /> <br /> <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Dustin Kalis, Fire Chief <br />AGENDA ITEM: CIP Project F-004 – Rescue 1 Hose Storage and Equipment Refurbish <br />REVIEWED BY: Nicole Miller, City Administrator <br /> Clarissa Hadler, Finance Director <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Fire Department is requesting to approval to refurbish the hose and equipment storage area <br />of Rescue 1. This project will refurbish existing hose storage area to include preconnected hose <br />capabilities and refurbish tool and equipment areas to better utilize available equipment storage <br />space. The 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Plan included this project for 2025. <br /> <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the City Council approve the Rescue 1 hose storage and equipment refurbish <br />recommended by staff, as outlined in the 2025 Capital Improvement Plan? <br /> <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />The fire department replaces or refurbishes vehicles on a rotating basis based on each individual <br />vehicles need. This project will allow for better apparatus utilization and response capability. <br />The Rescue 1 refurbishment will provide a refurbish of the existing hose storage area to include <br />preconnected hose capabilities and refurbish tool and equipment areas to better utilize available <br />storage space for updated equipment. The project will be completed by Rosenbauer as they were <br />the original builders of the apparatus. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The cost of this project has a budgeted amount of $30,000.00 and will be funded through the <br />vehicle replacement fund as identified in the 2025 CIP. <br /> <br />OPTIONS: <br />- Approve Rescue 1 hose storage and equipment refurbish project. <br />- Do not approve project. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: If removed from the consent agenda… <br /> “Motion to approve the purchase of 2025 CIP Project F-004 - 2025 Rescue 1 hose storage and <br />equipment refurbish at a cost not to exceed $30,000.00 as detailed in the City’s Purchasing <br />Policy.” <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />• Project estimate from Rosenbauer America.
