MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />AUGUST 3, 2000 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 3rd day of August, <br />2000 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in <br />said City. <br />Chair Matt Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mr. Matthew Anderson, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Carla Danielson <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Gray moved that the mizzutes of the July 6, 2000 meeting Ge approved. <br />Motion seconded Gy Larson. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />WORKSHOP Council wants emphasis put on the Round Lake Park western portion. <br />WITH <br />COUNCIL In the workshop with Council they suggested pursuing land acquisitions on Demont around <br />the school. The committee should start by finding out who the owners are of the houses in <br />that area and also if there are airy grants options available for a bridge over 35E. <br />CONCERTS The last concert had a great band, but this concert was lower in attendance than some of the <br />other conceits. <br />Danielson had some ideas for next year and sought suggestions from the committee. The <br />idea was brought up about video taping next year and play the concerts back on the cable <br />channel. Also, look at the possibility of getting more signs which would attract more <br />visibility to the event. For the concerts that are more family interactive another idea would <br />be an ice creain social on that night. The Review had an ad in their last edition that <br />advertised pricing for running an advertisement flyer insert. The committee will look next <br />year at pursuing these options. <br />
