MINUTF,S OI+ THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 5, 2000 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Mimresota was held on the 5`" day of October, <br />2000 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in <br />said City. <br />Chair Matt Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mr. Matthew Anderson, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Carla Danielson <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser <br />Mr. Robert Schabacher <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Sackett Glaser reconznzezzded that the minutes of the September 7, 2000 meetiug be <br />approved as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Larsou. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />JACKSON ST The Director stated that an article regarding naming the park on Jackson Street has been <br />PARK NAME published in the City's October newsletter that has been mailed to residents. The article has <br />also been faxed to the Review for publication and has been given to the Cable TV Producer <br />for placement on the City's Access Channel 16. Anderson encouraged residents to submit a <br />park name for consideration. He stated that residents can submit more than one name if they <br />wish. The deadline for submission of names is November 30. The Commission will review <br />the names and choose five to present to the public at the Commission meeting on January 4. <br />The Commission will then make their decision on a name to recommend to the City Council <br />for final approval. <br />MUSIC IN The Director stated that the $1,000 previously budgeted for the Music in the Park series has <br />THE PARK been eliminated due to the fact that the local charities have been funding the program. <br />PROJECTS Sanders reported on the following projects: <br />UPDATE <br />• The trails at Spooner and around Aspen Pond have been blacktopped and they look very <br />good.
