MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 12, 2000 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 12°i day of <br />September, 2000 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Vice Chair Rick Montour called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Ms. Faith Kraemer <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />MEMBERS ABSENT <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk <br />MINUTES There being no corrections to the September 14, 2000 Planning <br />Commission minutes, those minutes stand approved as submitted. <br />TEXT Gordie Howe, Masterpiece Homes, appeared before the Commission <br />AMENDMENT - requesting approval of a text amendment to the Sign Ordinance which <br />MONUMENT would allow residential project monument signs on private property <br />SIGNS as well as within public right-of--way. Howe presented the Commission <br />with a diagram of a monument sign he would like to install at either end of <br />the Pitrina Park Townhomes development. The sign would be 6 feet wide <br />and 5 feet high. It is a double-faced sign and would not be illuminated. <br />Howe reported that he has met with the homeowners association and they <br />have agreed to accept liability and responsibility for both signs. <br />Knudsen asked if the signs would be placed so as not to interfere with <br />visibility at intersections. Howe replied that this was correct. <br />The City Planner reported that the text amendment he is proposing would <br />allow signs of this nature by license. The licensing process would allow <br />
