MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 10, 2019 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the I01h day of <br />October, 2019 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Vice -Chair Nick Schwalbach called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. and <br />the following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll <br />call: <br />PLANNING Mr. Nick Schwalbach <br />COMMISSION: Mr. Chris Kwapick <br />Ms. Taelor Johnson <br />Ms. Nicole Westadt <br />Mr. Eric Thorson <br />ABSENT: Ms. Dawn Kulousek <br />Mr. Bill Buesing <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Chris Heineman, City Administrator <br />Ms. Heidi Heller, City Clerk <br />Mr. Bill Weber, Weber Community Planning <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson, City Council <br />COMPREHENSIVE The City Administrator explained that tonight's workshop is to continue <br />PLAN UPDATE discussion on the Comprehensive Plan. He stated that are using Planning <br />Consultant Bill Weber to help finish the plan and be able to submit an <br />acceptable document to the Metropolitan Council. Mr. Weber introduced <br />himself and reviewed his extensive background with 41 years of planning <br />experience. He stated that he has reviewed the draft plan and is working <br />on making it read better and be easier to use. He explained what is still <br />needed and that he expects to be able to have a final draft ready by the end <br />of the year. <br />The Planning Commission, City Staff and Mr. Weber discussed the topics <br />of Rice Street corridor and related zoning code improvements, <br />manufactured home parks, sidewalks and bicycling. He noted that a <br />bike/pedestrian bridge is really needed over I-35E and the freeway has <br />really divided the city, and that the Little Canada Road bridge over the <br />freeway is very difficult for any type of pedestrians to navigate over. <br />
