MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />November 7, 2019 <br /> <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on <br />the 7th of November in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road East in said city. <br /> <br /> Chair Dave Miller called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. and the following <br />members of the commission were present: <br /> <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Anna Abruzzese <br /> Ms. Rose Chu <br />Mr. Ron Horwath <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Mr. Tom Ray <br />Mr. Peter Schletty <br /> <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Sharen Darling <br /> <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bryce Shearen, Parks and Recreation <br />and Community Services Manager <br /> Ms. Claire Hoffman, Recreation <br />Coordinator <br /> <br /> <br />Ray made a motion to approve the minutes from the October meeting. <br />Schletty seconded the motion. The motion passed 6 – 0. <br /> <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported Xcel Energy completed the <br />last chemical treatment of the clear cut area at Thunder Bay/Westwinds <br />Park in October, and they had tilled Priority Area 1 between Arcade St. <br />and Greenbrier St. He explained the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service had <br />chosen seeds to plant, and Xcel Energy had agreed to pay for the seed. The <br />Community Services Manager stated the City would be doing a winter <br />application of the seeds, and then there would be a supplemental planting <br />in the spring. He explained the seeds would be placed on the snow, and as <br />the snow melted the seeds would go into the ground. The Community <br />Services Manager stated the City would engage the neighborhood and <br />community groups to help with supplemental planting in the spring.
