MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARRS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />SEPTEMBER 5, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of <br />the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 5th day of September, 1996 <br />in the Council Chambers of the City Hall located at 515 East <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Karen Johnson presided and called the meeting to order <br />at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the Commission <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. <br />Ms. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Karen Johnson, Chair <br />Pat Ables <br />Roger Christensen <br />Jim Greger <br />Tom Holm <br />Troy Rajanen <br />Howard Remerowski <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, P & R Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Mary Granley, Recording Secretary <br />WELCOME NEW Johnson welcomed new member Roger Christensen. <br />MEMBER <br />MINUTES Ables moved that the minutes of the August 1, 1996 meeting <br />be approved as read. <br />Motion seconded by Holm. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />PRIORITIZE Johnson stated there are four items budgeted for 1997, the <br />WISH LIST OF Pioneer Park volleyball court ($5000), the Gervais Mill site <br />PARR IMPR0~7E- amenities ($5000) and the Pioneer Park parking lot <br />MENTS & BUDGET-improvement and expansion ($40,000). <br />ED ITEMS <br />Johnson asked if the Spooner Park volleyball court is used <br />frequently. Morelan stated it is difficult to monitor, but <br />it is used heavily by those who reserve the shelter for the <br />weekend. <br />Johnson stated the top three items on the wish list and the <br />three budgeted items are the same. Rajanen questioned where <br />the improvement on the Pioneer Parking lot would be. <br />Morelan stated a consensus has not been determined, however, <br />the most popular area mentioned in discussions has been the <br />Centerville Road area. Johnson stated that once an <br />agreement is made that we want to spend money on a parking <br />lot improvement, then the place for the improvement will be <br />discussed further. <br />1 <br />
