MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> PAKKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> November 5, 2009 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br /> Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 5th day of November, <br /> 2009, in the council chambers of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in <br /> said city. <br /> Vice Chair Ruth Steinwall called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br /> members of the commission were present: <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br /> Ms. Patti Sullivan <br /> Mr. Tom Maida <br /> Mr. Dan Slain <br /> Mr. Kevin Steinert <br /> Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Linda Pahey, Chair <br /> AI:,SO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br /> Mr. James Morelan, Park & Recreation Director <br /> Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br /> <br /> MINiITES: Steinert made a motion to accept the minutes from the October meeting, seconded by Slain. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> NEW <br /> BUSINESS: THUNDER BAY PARK NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING <br /> Steinwall welcomed all the guests in attendance and asked Sanders to begin by making his <br /> presentation of the proposed changes to "Thunder Bay Park Sanders had three display chart <br /> pla~rs for suggested improvements to the park. Sanders stated there has not been any major <br /> improvements to the Thunder Bay Park since 1991. The suggested change for a basketball <br /> court was prompted by a petition submitted to the Park & Recreation Commission by the <br /> Quest for Power group and the play area has outdated equipment that is deteriorating. <br /> Sanders explained that Thunder Bay Park was designated to be a neighborhood park, with <br /> off street parking being discouraged, and no organized sports being held in this park. <br /> Sanders showed the current aerial view of the park on chart #1. He pointed out the location <br /> of the current trails, Xcel towers and play area with an open space for fiā€¢isbee, baseball or <br /> football games. <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br />
