MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />April 7, 2011 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 7th day of April, <br />2011, in the conference room of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in <br />said city. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Mr. 'I'om Maida <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Park & Recreation Director <br />MINUTES Steinwall corrected the Feb 3`d meeting minutes to include "on a red light" at the end of the <br />following sentence in paragraph 4 on page 2: <br />Steinwall said she had researched the topic and found out that the County can not make the <br />signs bigger but she suggested to them that a blinking light be added so people are aware <br />that right turns onto Little Canada Road are not allowed from the off ramp on a red light. <br />Steinwall made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected from the February 3, 2011 <br />meeting, seconded by Slain. Motion carried. <br />NEW <br />BUSINESS ICE CREAM SOCIAL <br />Morelan asked if the Commissioners were again in favor of hosting the Ice Cream Social on <br />Thursday evening on July 28 at 6:30 p.m.. The Commissioners all agreed that they should <br />again hold this event. Morelan will check with Steinert as he has organized the Ice Cream <br />Social for the past few years. Maida and Sullivan asked Morelan about the history of this <br />event. Morelan stated they had concerts in the park on Wednesday evenings in the months <br />ofJune, July and August. Canadian Days also had a preview night for carnival rides. Both <br />of those events have since been discontinued and the Ice Cream Social has continued. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
