- corrected by motion of Stein ■va1!— 4/7/11- MINUTES OLD BUSINESS MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA February 3, 2011 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 3rd day of February, 2011, in the council chambers of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the commission were present: MEMBERS PRESENT: ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair Ms. Ruth Stcinwall Ms. Katie Lolmaugh Ms. Patti Sullivan Mr. Tom Maida Mr. Dan Slain Mr. Kevin Steinert Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary Mr. Jim Morelan, Park & Recreation Director Maida made a motion to accept the minutes from the January 6, 2011 meeting, seconded by Steinert. Motion carried. SPOONER PARK RE- GRADING REQUEST BY CANADIAN DAYS UPDATE Morelan said this project should be discussed at a later meeting in the spring, possibly April or later. Sanders showed the commissioners the proposed regrading area on a large map of Spooner Park and stated it might be best to have the grading done after the 2011 Canadian Days weekend. Sanders reported he will contact the City Engineer to coordinate this project with the other city projects to acquire the dirt needed to fill the valleys before grading into a flatter area to the south of the pavilion, if the project moves forward. Lolmaugh voiced some concern as to whether there would still be the snow hill for kids to use for sledding. Sanders commented that the project would not be filling all the slopes in the park and there would still be some hills for sledding. Page 1 of 5
