Steinert stated that he has e-mailed Mike Graf of
Maplewood regarding the puppet wagon, he has talked to the fire department regarding having a
fire truck on display, and he is waiting for a call back fi-om the Ramsey County Sheriff's K-9
Unit. The Director said that he e-mailed Canadian Days stating that Sackett Glaser and he
would be available to attend one of their upcoming meetings to discuss dedication of the trails
system. He has not heard back from anyone yet. He indicated that if the dedication ceremony is
held on the same night as the Ice Cream Social, members of the Canadian Days Committee
would not be able to attend since they entertain guests from Thunder Bay that night. The
Committee desires to tie the dedication ceremony in with their celebration since this year's
theme is "Blazing New Trails." The Commission felt that the ceremony should be held at a
time when the Canadian Days Committee would be able to attend. The Director agreed.
Sackett Glaser suggested handing out flyers at the Ice Cream Social telling residents when the
dedication ceremony will be held. The Director stated that he would continue discussions with
the Canadian Days Committee and would let Commissioners know when the dedication
ceremony will be held.
