MINU'T'ES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />October 6, 2005 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6`h day of October, 2005 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Vice-Chair James Broten called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. James Broten, Vice-Chair <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Tony Mans <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />r"INUTES Pechman commented that Sackett Glaser had one change to last month's minutes. Bill Sanders <br />did not attend the meeting. She felt the minutes should be changed to reflect his non- <br />attendance. <br />Larson recommended that the minutes of the meeting held on September 1, 2005 be approved <br />as corrected. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />COMMUNITY Broten stated that Mans, Sackett Glaser, and Broten attended a workshop with the City Council <br />SURVEY a week ago on the community survey. Broten commented that the survey will take <br />approximately 45 minutes and 400 residents will be surveyed randomly. He felC that due to the <br />length of the survey, questions should be limited to only those that would be useful. <br />Boss asked how the information obtained would be used. The Director stated that information <br />from past surveys has been used for future decisions such as on the trails. <br />Gray commented that the city should be very careful as to what questions are asked because <br />there may be a perception created that a project will move forward. Boss felt that the questions <br />should be specific rather than generic or broad. Steinert agreed. <br />Broten stated that the questions listed in the agenda packet were created by Sanders as a starting <br />point. The questions can be altered or removed completely.
