PARK BOARD <br /> September 3 , 1986 <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson called to order the regular meeting of the <br /> Lino Lakes Park Board at 7: 04 P.M. , September 3 , 1986 . A tour <br /> of the Baldwin Lake property owned by the City of St. Paul took <br /> place immeaiately before this evening' s meeting. Members present: <br /> all members (K. Johnson, J. Baumann, G. Lindy, B. Nissen, K. James , <br /> J. Flannery) . Also present were Public Works Director, Don Volk <br /> and Secretary, Shar Foster. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - August 4, 1986 <br /> Ken Johnson moved to approve the minutes of the August 4 , 1986 meet- <br /> ing as presented. Mr. Baumann seconded the motion which carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> ICE ARENA PROPOSAL <br /> In updating the ice arena proposal issue presented by Jim Arntzen <br /> at the 8/4/86 meeting, Mr. Volk reported that the City of Circle <br /> Pines is trying hard to get the arena in Circle Pines and has <br /> offered a parcel of land on which to locate the arena. At the <br /> 8/4/86 meeting the Park Board approved the concept of the ice arena <br /> and agreed to make . a location available somewhere in Lino Lakes <br /> when and if the CACC (Centennial Area Civic Center) organization <br /> needed the property. The Lino Lakes City Council felt that if the <br /> Park Board wanted to commit a piece of property, some definition <br /> should be given to the parcel. <br /> Mr. Volk had been asked at the 8/4/86 Park Board meeting to put <br /> together a list of possible locations for the ice arena. That <br /> list follows: <br /> Locations preferable for immediate occupancy: <br /> 1 . S.W. corner of Sunrise Park ( 3 acres) <br /> 2 . North park in Sunset Oaks (currently undeveloped) <br /> Best if needed in the next two years: <br /> 1. Location of proposed D. Erickson plat on Birch Street <br /> 2. Blackduck area where Regency Homes/Uhde Development is <br /> building <br /> 3. St. Joe's church property <br /> 4. Property owned by G. Rehbein on Lake Drive <br /> MOTION: Mr. Baumann moved to recommend to Council that the S.W. <br /> corner of Sunrise Park (approximately 3 acres ) be offered to CACC <br /> for the proposed ice arena should the proposal become reality. <br /> Mrs. James seconded the motion which carried unanimously. <br /> COUNTRY LAKES PARK <br /> Mr. Volk updated on the progress at Country Lakes Park: <br />
