PARK BOARD <br /> January 6 , 1986 <br /> Chairman Ken Johnson called to order the regular meeting of the <br /> Lino Lakes Park Board at 7 : 05 P . M . , Monday , January 6 , 1986 . <br /> Members present : Lindy , Ray Johnson , Nissen , Flannery . Members <br /> absent : Sacco . Also present were Mr . Schumacher , City Administrator; <br /> Mr . Volk, Public Works Director and Mrs . Foster, Secretary . <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - November 4 , 1985 <br /> Mr . Ray Johnson moved to approve the minutes of the 11 /4/85 meeting <br /> as presented . Motion seconded by Mr. Ken Johnson . Carried unani - <br /> mous I y . <br /> POSITION OF CHAIRMAN <br /> Ken Johnson mentioned that this being the first meeting of the new <br /> year, the position of chairman of the board for 1986 should be <br /> decided. Mr . Schumacher told him that the Mayor will be appointing <br /> the chairmen of this and other boards at the 1 / 13/86 Council meeting . <br /> SI 'GNS FOR SUNRISE PARK AND COUNTRY LAKES PARK <br /> Per the Park Board ' s request , Mr . Volk has contacted a member of <br /> the Lion ' s Club informing him that the Park Board feels the need <br /> to erect a new sign at Sunrise Park and that Park Board needs fund- <br /> ing for the sign . The member that Mr . Volk contacted has not re- <br /> turned information as to how to further pursue funding . Mr . Volk <br /> will make contact acain before the next meeting of the Park Board . <br /> The Park Department is however going ahead with building the signs <br /> in hopes of reimbursement later . <br /> Ken Johnson recalled that at a recent Park Board meeting it was <br /> decided that the sign for Country Lakes Park should be paid for <br /> by funds already donated by the VFW and that the VFW should be <br /> recognized for this donation . For some time , the VFW has donated <br /> $300 per month for parks . Mr . Schumacher explained that the VFW <br /> will begin donated that $300 per month to the police department <br /> for the next six months and that the Park Board should be aware <br /> so they do not plan on this donation . <br /> Mr. Nissen felt that the signs should clear 11denote that the sign <br /> itself was donated by the particular organization and not the park . <br /> Mr . Volk agreed and said he would plan accordingly . <br /> SUNSET OAKS PARK DEDICATION <br /> Mr. Schumacher reported that the transaction of park dedication <br /> of Lots 13, 14 , 15 and 16 of Block 2 , Sunset Oaks has been re- <br /> corded and the deeds for this property is now in the City safe- <br /> deposit box . The City is also supposed to collect $3 , 000 cash <br /> from Tilsen Properties per the agreement made by the two parties . <br /> Mr. Schumacher agreed to research the negotiations with the City <br /> Attorney and report back to the Park Board at their next meeting <br /> as to the $3 , 000 cash due . <br />
