PARK BOARD <br /> October 21 , 1985 <br /> (Meeting changed from 10/7/85 to10/21/85 due to budget meeting conflicts .) <br /> The regular Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order by <br /> Chairman Ken Johnson at 7 : 07 P.M. , Monday, October 21, 1985 . <br /> Boardmembers present: Lindy, Ray Johnson, Nissen:. Absent : Sacco , <br /> Flannery. Also present were Don Volk, Public Works Director; <br /> Bill Bohjanen, Council Liaison and Shar Foster, Secretary. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - September 9 , 1985 <br /> Ray Johnson moved to approve the September 9 , 1985 minutes as <br /> presented. Mr. Nissen seconded the motion which carried unanimously. <br /> SUNSET OAKS PARK DEDICATION <br /> The issue of park dedication required of the developers of the Sun- <br /> set Oaks subdivision has been discussed at several Park Board meetings <br /> for the past year. <br /> On October 1, 1985 , the developer (Tilsen Properties) was represented <br /> by Kenneth Tilsen (attorney) and Roy Stanley (developer) in a meeting <br /> with the City Administrator, City Attorney, Public Works Director <br /> and several Park Board members . Those in attendance arrived at a <br /> mutually conceived agreement for the park dedication of Sunset Oaks . <br /> In a memo from the City Administrator , dated 10/21/85 , the Park <br /> Board was informed that a formal resolution accepting the terms <br /> agreed upon by the parties should be made and forwarded to the <br /> City Council for final action. <br /> MOTION : Ray Johnson moved to recommend to. Council acceptance of <br /> an agreement between Tilsen Properties and the City of Lino Lakes <br /> whereby Tilsen Properties will dedicate , as park dedication prop <br /> erty. for the Sunset Oaks subdivision , Lots 13 , 14 and 15 of Block <br /> 2 , Sunset Oaks , and also accept a sum of $3 ,000 cash for park devel- <br /> opment. Motion seconded by Mr. Lindy. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> COUNTRY LAKES PARK <br /> Mr. Volk, at the request of the Park Board , put together and dis- <br /> tributed a list of the plans , accomplishments and future mainten- <br /> ance costs for Country Lakes Park. Also distributed was a study <br /> of the silting reoccuring in the beach area and the depths in the <br /> fishing area of the park. <br /> The dredging contractor has still not removed equipment , etc. from <br /> the park after several reminders . It was discussed that possibly <br /> the pontoons left there may be usable as fishing or swimming dock. <br /> The question of beach liability/swim at your own risk signs/lifeguard <br /> coverage have not yet been answered by the City Attorney. <br /> ACTION REQUESTED : The Board asked that the City Attorney submit a <br /> report with regard to beach liability for the next Park Board meeting <br /> in order for the Board to begin making arrangements for beach open- <br /> ing around June 1 , 1985 . <br /> It was suggested that the newspapers print notice of the beach open- <br /> ing when the time comes . <br />
