1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Council Meeting <br />February 27, 1984 <br />183 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />at 7:00 P.M., February 27, 1984, by Mayor Benson with all Council <br />members present. Also present; Mr. Hawkins, Mr Schumacher, Mr. Davidson, <br />Mr.Kluegel and Mrs. Sarner. Mr. Short and Chief Myhre arrived later. <br />MINUTES - February 13. 1984 <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the minutes of February 13, 1984 as pre- <br />sented. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously. <br />DISBURSEMENTS - February 27, 1984 <br />On considering the disbursements, Mr. Marier asked about Forest Electric <br />check - what for? This is for the new circuit for the heating unit <br />installed in the shop. Mr. Marier also questioned the statement for the <br />electric plans for the new Council Chambers - he felt this was part of <br />the original plans. Mr. Schumacher explained that it was not a part of <br />that plan and anything done in the Council Chambers will be by separate <br />plans. Only the shell was designed by the architect. Mayor Benson <br />questioned the courses being attended by members of the Police Department. <br />A list of the schools to be attended by these officers was requested. <br />Mayor Benson questioned a bill to Circle Pines under the Park Department. <br />It was explained this is for gas at the warming house at Sunrise Park. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the disbursements as presented. <br />Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried unanimously. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />Charles Cape - Mr. Cape gave a report on the activities of the Civil <br />Defense this past year to in -C4ude the status of the repeater radio pur- <br />chased by that orgainzation. There was discussion on the mobile unit <br />they are planning to install in either the 6x6 or the Civil Defense van. <br />He also discussed the fire arems safety program that is conducted by <br />the members of the Civil Defense and the success of that program. <br />The many functions that had been participated in during the past year <br />were noted and some of the plans for the coming year was discussed. <br />Mr. Cape asked Mayor Benson to join him as he presented Service Awards <br />to members of the Civil Devense. Mrs. Frances Cape received recognition <br />for her seven years of service and Mr. Cape listed her many accomplishment <br />during those seven years. Mr. Art Johnson received his award for his <br />seven years of service. Mr. Cape noted the areas that Mr. Johnson had <br />worked in during his years. <br />Mr. Cape then presented a Special Award for 25 years service to Mr. John <br />Juleen noting that Mr. Juleen is a Charter Member of this organization. <br />Mr. Cape listed the many areas that M. Juleen had participated in and <br />the Boards that he has served on for the City. <br />Mayor Benson noted that without volunteer help to the City, Many things <br />would not be accomplished and the service of people prove this point. <br />He thanked them for their time and dedication to the City. <br />
