Council Meeting <br />September 10, 1984 295 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />at 7:05 P.M. by Mayor Benson. Mr. Marier and Mr. Bohjanen were also <br />present. Mr Kulaszewicz and Mr. Reinert were absent (Mr. Reinert entered <br />meeting at 7:30). Others present were Mr. Schumacher, Mr. Myhre, Mr. Kluegel, <br />Mr. Hawkins, Mrs. Anderson, M /4. Davidson and Mrs. Foster. <br />MINUTES - August 27, 1984 <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve the minutes as presented. Seconded by Mr. <br />Marier. Motion carried. <br />CONSIDERATION OF DISBURSEMENTS - August 31 and September 10, 1984 <br />Mr. Schumacher made note of the fact that the listing for a check of $150.60 <br />to the Minnesota Association of Small Cities (for dues) should be deleted <br />and that the check to Mahin, Walz, Inc. for bifold doors should be changed <br />to $1,815.00. Mr. Benson asked that the clerk check to see that this parti- <br />cular item had not been already paid as he seemed to remember approving <br />and /or signing a check to this company in the recent past. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the disbursements as amended. Seconded by Mr. <br />Bohjanen. Motion carried. <br />GROUP W CABLE PRESENTATION - Herb Johnson, Representative <br />Mr. Johnson reported that the local newspapers had recently given cable TV <br />some poor publicity which in his opinion blew some minor (and corrected) <br />Iproblem out of proportion. He introduced Ms. Denise Durante who highlighted <br />the proposed cable system for the Lino Lakes area and handed out a brochure <br />regarding rates and services. Some highlights were: 1) 30 or 50 channels <br />option at $5.95 or $10.95 per month respectively, 2) first 90 -days free, 3) <br />no X -rated programs available, 4) lock mechanism available to assure parental <br />guidance in program selection, 5) senior citizens' discount. <br />Ms. Durante reported that the system must be completed to serve the Lino <br />Lakes area by November 5, 1985 and that the Blaine area will begin service <br />approximately July of 1985. She offered her assistance should the Council <br />or citizens have any questions or concerns - simply phone her at 780 -8241. <br />Mr. Benson reminded the. Council that an alternate for Herb Johnson had not <br />yet been appointed. Mr. Johnson said the cable interface takes approximately <br />3 hours per month. Mr. Benson asked to make this an agenda item for the <br />next Council meeting. <br />OPEN MIKE - Don Shackle <br />Mr. Shackle had requested he be scheduled to appear on open mike to protest <br />the present dog ordinance 502.03. He had spoken to Mr. Schumacher and <br />written a letter to the City Council explaining his problem with White <br />Bear Animal Control supposedly removing his dog from his property when <br />his.children were home with the dog and after a neighbor identified the <br />Idog to the dog patrol. Mr. Shackle did not appear at this meeting. White <br />Bear Animal Contol did)and answered several questions regarding procedure <br />when picking up dogs. White Bear Animal Control reported that numerous <br />complaints had been made regarding loose dogs in the area in question. <br />
