1 <br />February 10, 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order on <br />February 10, 1975 at 8:05 P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members <br />present: Jaworski, McLean, Zelinka. Absent: Marier, because of an <br />emergency at his place of employment. Mr. Locher was also present. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the minutes of the January 27, 1975 meeting <br />as presented. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk had received a request from Mrs. Vi Schwankl for something in <br />writing stating that the gasoline tanks at their building on the corner <br />of Lake Drive and Orange Streets meets; with the requirements of the City <br />Ordinance. The Council felt that these tanks must meet the State requir- <br />ements and if they do, then they will also meet City requirements. The <br />Clerk was instructed to put this in a letter for Mrs. Schwankl and to <br />enclose a copy of Ordinance No. 55. <br />The Council was reminded of the meeting scheduled with Mr. Boland for <br />February 12, 1975 at 4:00 P.M. in Mr. Boland's Office for the discussion <br />of the sewer problem. Senator Milton's office had called and he has an- <br />other meeting scheduled for that time but Representative Neisen will <br />attend representing both offices. The Clerk was instructed to contact <br />Mr. Starr and Mr. Gotwald requesting that they also attend this meeting. <br />The letter from the State Auditor informing the Clerk and Council the <br />necessary action that must be taken in the event of robbery or embezzlement <br />of public funds. This letter will be kept on file for reference if the <br />need arises. <br />The Clerk read a letter from Anoka County Board of Commissioners in <br />connection with the monies available to be used for the employment of <br />unemployed people. This will cover only newly created positions and <br />is only funded for one year. It is not required that the person hired <br />in this capacity be retained after the expiration of the funding. The <br />City of Lino Lakes has been allotted the sum of $3,776.00 under this <br />program. No decision was made on the use of these monies at this meeting. <br />A new contract from Milner Carley had been received. After examining <br />the contract, Mr. Jaworski moved to approve, seconded by Mr. McLean. <br />Motion carried. <br />The Clerk reported that $79.40 had been received from Anoka County in <br />payment for gopher bounty. A letter with the payment informed the <br />City that the County will reimburse the City $.15 per pocket gopher if <br />the City pays the individuals $.30 per pocket gopher. Since this does <br />not affect the amount refunded to the City, no action was taken. <br />The Clerk reported that she had received a copy of the new rates put <br />into effect by NSP. These rates will be used until such time 4a <br />ruling is handed down by the State Commission. <br />Since Monday February 17th is a legal holiday, the Clerk asked if the <br />Park Board Meeting scheduled for that date can been held and if the City <br />Offices will be closed. Mr. Locher said the Board acts in an advisory ca- <br />pacity only the meeting can be held as scheduled but the City Offices <br />will be closed on that date. <br />
