6 <br />APRIL 14, 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />at 8:05 P.M. on April 14, 1975 by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members <br />present: Jaworski, Marier, McLean. Absent: Zelinka. Mr. Locher <br />and Mr. Gotwald were also present. <br />The minutes of the March 25, 1975 meeting were corrected as follows: <br />Page 1, paragraph 2, after the word 'weather' add " the meeting <br />having been continued by a roll call vote by telephone." <br />Mr. McLean moved to approve the minutes as corrected. Seconded by Mr. <br />Marier. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk reported that an election by the members of the Police Department <br />for Union Representation has been allowed by the State Mediation Board. <br />The election will be by mail and the ballots must be returned by April <br />25, 1975. The ballots will be opened and tabulated at 10:00 A.M. on <br />April 28, 1975 in the presence of a City Representative and a Union Rep- <br />resentative. Mayor Bohjanen will try to attend this meeting but if he <br />finds that he will be unable to attend, Mr. Marier will appear. <br />A letter from Representative Neison was read explaining two bills that <br />have been introduced in the Senate and House dealing with tax levy <br />for the Rice Creek Watershed District. Mr. Marier felt that a letter <br />should be written to Rep. Neison and ask that the present tax levy they are <br />operating under be studied before seeking more levy for that Board. Are <br />they using the tax monies properly and are they following their charter <br />in this use? Mr. Marier moved to itnstruct the Clerk to write such a <br />letter. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Lyle Carpenter had written a letter protesting the sign renewal <br />fees and questioning the inspection fees. The Clerk was instructed <br />to send Mr. Carpenter a copy of the sign ordinance and to explain the <br />reasons behind the inspection. <br />The Clerk read a letter fo resignation from Mr. Ralph L'Allier who is <br />a member of the Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. McLean moved to accept <br />Mr. L'Allier's resignation with regrets and asked that a letter of <br />"thanks" be sent to him. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk had received a letter concerning Flood Insurance. She was <br />instructed to write the firm and inform them that we are working on this <br />at the present time. <br />There was a notice from the Metropolitan Council that hearings will be held <br />in connection with the Rice Creek Watershed District Overall Plan. A <br />letter is to be written asking that as part of this plan, the water levels <br />in the lakes be established. This should be done at this time and not <br />added at a later date. The Clerk is to request a copy of this plan, include <br />this request and ask for a hearing. Mr. McLean so moved. Seconded by Mr <br />Marier. Motion carried. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
