1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />JUNE 9, 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at <br />8:00 P.M. on June 9, 1975 by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present: Marier, <br />McLean, Absent: Jaworski and Zelinka. Mr. Locher and Mr. Gotwald were also <br />present. <br />Mr. Tom Daniels of Rep. James Oberstar's office, 'was present to offer his <br />assistance to the City or its residents in any manner that may be needed. He <br />left his phone number - 784 -1622 - where he can be contacted. He will be <br />glad to meet with the people here at the Hell at their convenience. He <br />thanked the Council for their time. Mayor Bohjanen thanked Mr. Daniels for <br />his concern. <br />After consideration, Mr. Marier moved to approved the minutes of May 27, <br />1975 as written. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk Reported: <br />...A letter from Mr. Burman stating that the dumping area on the South end <br />of Centerville Lake would be kept open through June 10th for the disposal <br />of trees from the storm. <br />...Read a letter from the Centerville Fire Department setting the procedures <br />for handling fires during the closing of Main Street for bridge construction. - <br />This letter designates the streets and house numbers that will be affected <br />by this closing. The Mayor requested that this information be published. <br />Copies of the letter will be made for the reporters present. <br />...Read a letter from Mr. James Stockton, Assistant State Fire Marshall, <br />setting forth the requirements for a self- service gas station to be located <br />at Lake Drive and Orange Street. A copy of this is to be mailed to the <br />Fire Marshall. <br />There was a form for application for reimbursement funds from the State of <br />Minnesota in connection with BCA training. It is necessary that the Council <br />designate someone to make application for these funds. Mr. Marier moved to <br />authorize the Clerk to make application for State reimbursement funds. Seconded <br />by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />The consideration of the Planned Use Report for Federal Revenue Sharing Funds <br />to be received beginning July 1975 and ending June 1976 was next on the <br />agenda. The amount to be received this time period is $34,594.00. Mr. <br />Marier moved that two thirds be designated for Raods and one third to be <br />divided evenly between Parks and the Police Department. The figures are: <br />Roads - $23,062; Parks - $5,766.00; Police - $5,766.00.-- Seconded by Mr. <br />McLean. Motion carried. The Clerk will finish the report and get it to <br />the Forest Lake Times for publication. <br />Mayor Bohjanen had received complaints about the new speed limit signs of <br />55 miles per hour posted on Birch and on 20th Avenue. Mr. Burman had obtained <br />four "Children at Play" signs, given them to the residents to install along <br />sections of these streets. The Clerk was instructed to write to the County <br />and ask them to request a speed study by the State on those two streets. <br />Mr. Charles Cape, Civil Defense Director, gave his report on the activities <br />of that orginazation after the storm went through this area on May 19, 1975. <br />He noted that the number of man hours and presented the Council with two <br />points for consideration; 1) a generator that the gas pump can be hooked <br />into in the event that electric power is interupted such as it was that night; <br />and 2) the need for radios since the phones were also out. <br />
