December 27, 1977 51 Mayor Bohjanen said he would like to say something before he left this Council. Eleven years ago he had been approached for an appointemet to the Council had re- ufsed the appointemnt and was elected to the Council at the next election. Then decided he'd like to sit in the center on the Council table, so ran ans was elected to the Mayor's position. He has enjoyed his time on the Council, in both positions. Mayor Bohjanen said he and enjoyed this last two years the most. This has been a good working Council that stuck to the jab and has gotten a lot done. He said he will still be around. Mayor Bohjanen thanked all the Council members for their cooperation. Mr. Zelinka moved to approve Checks #8481 through and including #8502. Seconded by Mr. Karth. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Bohjanen asked Mr. Karth to approach the Mayor's presented Mayor Elect Karth with the official gavel. Mr. Karth accepted, with 'Thanks' and moved to present as a memento of his years of service. Seconded by Mr. unanimously. seat. Mayor Bohjanen then the gavel to Mayor Bohjanen McLean. Motion carried Mr. Zelinka said he had enjoyed his years as a Council member and felt that recognition should be given to the individual Council members; Mr. Schneider for his endless job of making the figures balance, Mr. McLean for his diplomacy in dealing with so many different kinds of requests dealing with land use from so many different people; Mr. Karth for maintaining the roads so well that few com- plaints are received. As his last official act, Mr. Zelinka turned over his keys to the City Hall to the Clerk. Mayor Bohjanen said he has many things to sort out, but will turn over the City property at the January 4, 1978 meeting. Mr. Zelinka moved to adjourn at 9:20 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Karth.. Aye. Sarner, Celrk- Treasurer January 4, 1978 The special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 8:00 P.M. on January 4, 1978 by Mayor Karth. Council members present; Kulaszewicz, McLean, Schneider. Mr. Locher was also present. Since this is a special meeting, there were no minutes to be considered. Mayor Karth turned the meeting over to Commissioner Burman. Mr. Burman introduced Mr. Redipenny and Mr. Ruud of the County Highway Department. Mr. Ruud presented a map showing the proposed rebuilding of Birch Street. This Street would be regarded and resurfaced to give a driving surface of 24 feet with two ten feet surfaced shoulders. Mr. Ruud explained that there are a couple of spots where the planned ditch could not be installed - in those areas a curb and boulevard will be installed. There are also several areas where the relocation of the roadbed will be necessary for enviormental reasons. The present plans call for teh removal of only one structure. The subject of upgrading County Road 14 was discussed. It was felt this is a much more traveled roadway and some consideration of rebuilding this road should be
