1 <br />1 <br />4! <br />August 14, 1978 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />at 8:00 P.M., August 14, 1978 by Mayor Karth. Council members present; <br />Kulaszewicz, MrLean, Schneider, Zelinka. Absent; None. Mr. Locher <br />was absent due to illness. <br />Mr. McLean moved to approve the minutes of July 24, 1978 as presented. <br />Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion declared passed. <br />The Clerk presented the following items for Council consideration: <br />..A request from Northwestern Bell Telephone to place buried cable on <br />62nd Street East of Ware Road. The Clerk had contacted Mr. Gotwald and <br />he had given oral approval of this request. Mr. Zelinka moved to approve <br />this request. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion declared passed. <br />..A questionaire from the Anoka County Community Action Program had been <br />received. Mayor Karth checked this. <br />..A11 Council members have a copy of the Centerville Fire Department's <br />report. <br />..A request from a legal firm in Center City asking for the date the <br />City adopted the State Building Code. This will have to be researched. <br />..$419.16 had been received from the State of Minnesota for reimbursement <br />for shade tree control. <br />..All Council members have copies of the results of the mediation hearing. <br />..A notice from the Lakeland Fire and Casualty Insurance Company had been <br />received indicating that the Workers' Compensation Insurance premimum will <br />be increased by 23.2 %. <br />..The deeds for the land on 7th Avenue have been recorded. A copy of the <br />legal descriptions has been received from the County Auditor. <br />..Notice of the Regional meetings scheduled by the League of Minnesota Cities <br />had been received in the office. The one nearest this City is scheduled <br />for Wednesday, November 1, 1978 at the Holiday Inn, Brooklyn Center. The <br />Clerk will remind the Council members of this date. <br />..A11 Council members have a copy of an insurance quote submitted for <br />their consideration. <br />..Municipal fines receipts for July were $623.33. <br />..The Lexington Fire Department reported there were no fires in July. <br />..The meeting concerned with Open Space has been scheduled for Wednesday, <br />September 6, 1978 at 8:00 P.M. at the Lino Lakes City Hall and has been <br />confirmed by Hugo and the Metropolitan Open Space Commission. <br />Mr. Al Mitchell, representing Northwestern Bell Telephone, was here to <br />discuss the proposed changes in the telephone system for the offices. <br />Mr. Mitchell presented the Council with a proposal for the installation of <br />a ComKey system. The basic service and the optional features were discussed. <br />The costs of the present system as compared to the ComKey system and the <br />additional features available were considered. After some discussion on <br />this matter, Mr. McLean said he would like to see a contract. Mr. Schneider <br />asked when one could be available and Mr. Mitchell said he could have one <br />in the offices on Wednesday. <br />Mr. McLean moved to authorize the drawing up of a contract for consideration <br />containing the following items; 4 incoming lines, 7 extensions, with the <br />Clerk and the Police Chief to have the privacy feature, the touch tone <br />system, and the contract to be written for 60 months. Seconded by Mr. <br />Schneider. Motion declared passed. The Clerk will contact the Council with <br />the monthly costs when the information is available. <br />Mr. Mitchell was thanked for his time and information. <br />
