22
8/14/72
Mr. Marier questioned bill #4665 on repair work on Unit #203, noting that there
was a dire need for the work to be done in May, but it was not done until July 12th.
Mr. Jaworski said the alignment was not a dire need, but was needed. Mr.
Zelinka asked if this was preventive maintenance; Mr. Jaworski stated that
the truck repeatedly wore out the front tires. There was more discussion.
Mr. Cardinal said he felt Mr. Bohjanen should sign the police requisitions as
head of that department. He asked if we normally get road mix at North Branch
as in bill #4662; Clerk said the strike was on and that was the closest place
we could get it.
Mr. Marier made a plea again that we get approval from the Council to spend
money for Lino Lakes as we are elected and responsible to the people; if there
is so little respect for procedure we are in trouble. Mr. Zelinka greed, but
noted that there are delays in getting administrative policy into play. He
thought we might need a clear set of directives; it was noted that we have one.
Clerk asked how Council wished to handle approval of things that can't wait for
a Council meeting; members felt it could be done by phone. Mr. Bohjanen said
again that he felt this had been approved ahead of time.
Mr. Marier noted that there were no estimated prices on requisition #124 for
alignment on 2 vehicles. Mr. Zelinka felt we could approve of having the work
done as it is an inconsistency to not approve of it when complaining that a
previous job hadn't been done immediately. Mr. Marier said that this is
preventive maintenance and we should get estimates. Gerald Johnson said the cost
Was $11.50 plus $2 per wheel; this was put on the requisition by Mr. Zelinka.
Mr. Jaworski moved to pay all the billds, #4636 -4667 inclusive. Seconded by
Mr. Cardinal. Carried.
Mr. Cardinal moved to adjourn at 10:50 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski.
