Motion carried
unanimously.
The Clerk reported on information obtained from North Central concerning the gas
rates in the Country Lakes area. The homes in that area are served by propane and
the City is charged propane rates. This is due to the fact that the area around
the well house is not developed and there are no lines in the ground. As to the
construction schedule in that area, it will not be set until North Central's
budget is finalized sometime in March. The Clerk was instructed to write to North
Central for their reasoning-,on these charges. The understanding of the Council
was that the area would be served and at natural gas rates. This was moved by Mr.
Marier, Seconded by Mr. McLean and carried unanimously.
All Council Members had received copies of Mr. Hill analysis of the Lino Lakes
portion of Circle Pines Gas system. Mr. Marier felt that the tone of Mr. Hill's
report indicated that he was in accord with the methods used in assessing the
charges. He was surprised by this and did not understand the reasoning.
