1 <br />1 <br />May 8, 1972 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Council held on May 8, 1972 was <br />called to order at 8 P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen with all members present as well <br />as Attorney Locher, Engineer Gotwald and Clerk- Treasurer Mrs. Emerton. <br />Mrs. Swanson asked the Clerk if we were paying any Federal gas tax on the <br />Skelly bills; Clerk said No. Mrs. Swanson advised the Clerk to take the <br />Federal tax under advisement when computing the monthly gasoline records. <br />Mrs. Swanson asked Mr. Cardinal about his saying at the April 24th meeting <br />that no remarks had been made on the County park proposal at the Park Board <br />meeting when the minutes say that it was discussed later. Mr. Cardinal said <br />that no remarks were made concerning it while he was alone with the Park Board. <br />Mrs. Swanson asked Mr. Locher if we had no exempted areas (referring to the <br />PCA burning variance); he said that the forms are being completed to request <br />exempted areas. <br />Mrs. Swanson asked if a <br />Rosengren's work on his <br />to check this aut. Mr. <br />check of the minutes had been made regarding Jerry <br />house. Mr. Bohjanen said that he had not had time <br />Marier felt an answer would come during the meeting. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the April 24th minutes as corrected. Seconded <br />by Mr. Marier. Carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the minutes of the May 1st meeting as corrected. <br />Seconded by Mr. Marier. Carried with Mr. Jaworski voting No. <br />At the request of Mrs. Rykel, following discussion, Mr. Marier moved that we <br />write a letter to the County asking them to look into the matter of Birch <br />Street between Centerville Road and 20th Avenue as to proper ditching and <br />putting in necessary culverts. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried. <br />The Clerk read letters from the following: <br />1. Metro Sewer-Board, dated May 5th, advising that MSB had determined <br />on May 3rd that the 1972 cost allocation for Lino Lakes be withdrawn, and <br />no allocation of costs would be made for the year 1972. <br />2. Alfred Fisher, dated May 5th, that he would be unable to have a com- <br />pleted soild map with urban interpretations by May 8th, but would be able <br />to present the completed map on May 22nd. <br />3. Meeker Magner Co., dated May 4th, advising that the <br />Stanley E. Thayer and been returned to them for cancellation <br />April 15th and they were notified that Mr. Thayer had placed <br />with the Reserve Insurance Co. Clerk noted she had received <br />coverage from the second company. <br />4. John Fallon, Supt. pf M.R.D.C., Dated April 27th, thanking the <br />Police Dept. for their excellent cooperation in times of need, and com- <br />mending two officers; who, on April 22nd, had provided an emergency escort <br />and revived a youth being taken to Ramsey County Hospital. <br />5. Maxine Swanson, Dated May 8th, tendering her resignation as <br />Trustee effective June 5th due to personal responsibilities and obligations <br />requiring her fullest considerations. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved, on Mayor Bohjanen's recommendation, to accept with <br />regret Mrs. Swanson's resignation which was tendered due to personal <br />responsibilities, and thanking her for what she has endeavored to do in <br />laying down office procedure.
