ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 14, 2014 <br />4 <br />5 CALL TO ORDER. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: Mayor Faust; Councilmembers Jenson, Roth, and Stille. <br />16 Absent: Councilmember Gray. <br />17 Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey, Fire Chief Mark Sitarz, and City Engineer Justin Messner <br />18 (WSB & Associates). <br />19 <br />20 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />21 ITEMS. <br />22 <br />23 I. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 14, 2014, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />24 <br />25 Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve the City <br />26 Council Meeting Agenda of October 14, 2014. <br />27 <br />28 Motion carried 4-0. <br />29 <br />30 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />31 <br />32 A. Recognition of St. Anthony Fire Department and St. Anthony New Brighton School <br />33 District by Lt. Colonel Eric DiNatale, 55`h Civil Division. <br />34 <br />35 Fire Chief Sitarz explained that Firefighter Seth Goettl is a member of the Minnesota National <br />36 Guard 55`h Civil Division and Mr. Goettl requested that the City and the School District partner <br />37 with the Minnesota National Guard on a training exercise conducted in July. He stated the <br />38 exercise provided an opportunity for the Fire Department to watch the National Guard conduct <br />39 training from a hazardous materials perspective and the exercise was another example of the <br />40 City's willingness to collaborate with others. He then introduced Lt. Colonel Eric DiNatale and <br />41 Sgt. First Class Seth Goettl from the Minnesota National Guard 55th Civil Division. <br />42 <br />43 Lt. Colonel DiNatale thanked the Fire Department for partnering with them and stated it was a <br />44 great training event that included use of the high school gymnasiums and outdoor bleachers, <br />45 which provided a realistic training environment for them. He presented a Certificate of <br />46 Appreciation to Fire Chief Sitarz and a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Wendy Webster <br />47 representing the School District and thanked everyone involved in the training exercise. <br />48 <br />49 Sgt. First Class Goettl stated the training exercise was intended to prepare for the All Star Game <br />50 in July and included training for hazardous materials incidents, dealing with an active shooter or <br />
