He explained that she coordinated a large lunch and ceremony as well as donations from
the residents, staff and local merchants for the Fire Department. He said she went out of her way
for the Department, and he wanted to thank her in public. She raised $4,000 in donations.

Ms. Fitzgerald said that she didn't have to twist any arms or beg; the donations came in very
easily. The participants
said St. Anthony has one of the finest Fire and Police Departments.

Mayor Faust presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Fitzgerald.

Fire Chief explained that at Chandler Place, 26 employees get together at Christmas and
exchange gifts. This year, rather than exchanging gifts between themselves, they gave the
money to the Fire Department for a new defibrillator. He stated they received matching funds
from a local Neighbors Association of America. He indicated this defibrillator is available to be
used on children, and this type may not have worked into the budget for a number of years.

Mark Anderson, Manager of Chandler Place, said that the employee project was typical of the
people he works with every day. He said the residents appreciate the good care from the Fire
and Police Departments. As a gesture of appreciation, this project for the defibrillator was
-48 chosen. He said one of their mottos is "Our Hearts are in Service to Seniors" and he said they
appreciate the help in achieving that motto.
