CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />MAY 8, 2018 <br />CALL TO ORDER. <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: Mayor Faust, Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Randle and Stille. <br />16 Absent: <br />17 Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey, City Engineer Todd Hubmer, Finance Director Shelly <br />18 Rueckert, and Police Chief Jon Mangseth. <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />22 ITEMS. <br />23 <br />24 I. APPROVAL OF MAY 8, 2018 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />25 <br />26 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />27 Council Meeting Agenda of May 8, 2018 as presented. <br />28 <br />29 Motion carried 5 -0. <br />30 <br />31 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />32 <br />33 A. Students in Government Presentation <br />34 <br />35 Four students provided the Students in Government Presentation to the Council. The first young <br />36 man, Adonai Yishak stated he worked with the Public Works and Finance Departments. He had <br />37 a great conversation with Mayor Faust and Councilmember Randle. Jasmine Kaur stated she <br />38 liked the Students in Government program and worked in the Police Department and the <br />39 Planning Department. She enjoyed her time with the City and had met with Mayor Faust and <br />40 Councilmember Gray. Christa Amoah stated she enjoyed the opportunity to work with the <br />41 Police Department and Public Works and appreciated the Police more after this experience. <br />42 Nimo Hashi stated she had worked with the Police Department and Engineering and was very <br />43 impressed with the experience. She had also spoken with Councilmember Randle. <br />44 <br />45 Mayor Faust stated City Manager Casey started this program two years ago, it is refreshing to <br />46 see youth that are interested in the City, and encouraged all students to seek careers in <br />47 government. Councilmember Randle stated he appreciated the way the students went about their <br />48 business and advised the students to use their voices respectively. <br />49 <br />
