ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />JUNE 27, 2023 <br />CALL TO ORDER. <br />Mayor Stille called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />Mayor Stille invited the Council and audience to join in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL. <br />Present: Mayor Stille, Councilmembers Jenson, Randle, Walker and Webster. <br />Absent: None. <br />Also Present: City Manager Charlie Yunker, Finance Director Shelly Rueckert, City Planner Steve <br />Grittman, and Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire. <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />ITEMS. <br />I. APPROVAL OF JUNE 27, 2023 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Randle, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of June 13, 2023 as presented. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITION. <br />A. Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire Presentation. <br />Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire provided an update on Ramsey County <br />activities. Ramsey County has over 550,000 residents. They are the most concentrated in <br />diversity and poverty. Ramsey County encompasses all or part of 20 cities. The median <br />household income is $71,000. Commissioner McGuire reviewed the vision, mission and goals of <br />Ramsey County. They have a very active engagement process with residents and cities. Ramsey <br />County received $96M from the Federal Government in 2020. $72M of that was used for <br />housing, food, and financial assistance. Investment was made in employment support. They <br />received American Rescue Plan dollars also to invest in housing and homelessness prevention. <br />The public health department was reinforced. Commissioner McGuire reviewed some of the <br />issues that have been worked on including housing, transit and transportation funds. She spoke <br />about the HRA Levy and this was the first year for a HRA Levy. Commissioner McGuire invited <br />the Council to ask any questions. <br />
