Approval of Drainage Improvement at Pascal ar_d Iowa at <br />a Cost of $4,500.00 <br />REQUESTS FOR CITY PARTICIPATION IN COST OF RENIOVAL OF PRIVATE <br />TREES DENIED <br />Council considered requests from Roger and Cheryl Pittelkow, <br />1853 Pascal, and Gene Steele, 1776 Arona, that the City <br />participate in the cost of removal of trees on their properties <br />which have the appearance of boulevard trees. Both parties were <br />of the opinion that at sometime in the past the City had <br />remcved/trimmed similar trees as if they were on City property. <br />Council agreed that Resolution R-85-41 which stipulates that any <br />reimbursement for these types of trees would be discontinued as <br />of September 1, 1987, should remain in force. <br />BIDS AWARDED FOR IDAHO/SNELLING PARK SITE IMPROVEMENTS AND <br />PICNIC/WAJZMING SHELTER <br />Carol Huso, Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission, <br />explained that the Commission would like to move forward with <br />the project and recommended that the bid be awarded as <br />presented. Following a brief discussion Jacobs moved that the <br />picnic/warming shelter bid be awarded to Dahn Construction in <br />the amount of $67,600 and that the site improvements for the <br />project be awarded to Aragoni Bros, in the amount of $62,687, <br />both amounts to be funded from the park capital improvement <br />fund. Motion carried unanimously. <br />GROUND BREAKING FOR IDAHO/SNELLING PARK IMPROVEMENTS TO BE HELD <br />THIRD WEEK IN JULY <br />A ground breaking event for the Park Improvement Project will be <br />scheduled sometime during the third week in July. <br />REQUEST FOR ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 68 <br />DEGREES IN RENTAL HOUSING UNITS TO BE DISCUSSED AT A FUTURE <br />WORKSHOP <br />Council discussed a letter from Diane Duffy, 1710 Larpenteur, <br />requesting that Council consider an ordinance requiring <br />landlords to maintain a minimum of 68 degrees in housing units. <br />Staff was directed to obtain samples of ordinances from other <br />communities for discussion at a workshop meeting. <br />AMENDMENTS TO ASSESSMENT POLICY APPROVED <br />Maurer presented a variety of revisions which had been <br />
