Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />«~ <br />MINUTES OF <br />10/10/84 <br />APPROVED <br />Council discussed a request from Martha Rukavina, 1659 Maple Knoll, for REQUEST <br />a cross walk on Larpenteur at Gortner, as well as a stop light to control FROM MARTHA <br />traffic at peak hours. Following the discussion, Council decided to take no RTJKAVINA <br />action until there is a final decision on the proposed Bradford Schools FOR CROSS <br />project as a signal might be warranted if the school is constructed. Mzyor WALK, ETC. <br />Eggert will contact Mrs. Rukavina and explain the situation. DEFERRED <br />Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Hard, that Ed and Margaret <br />Sinclair, 1824 Simpson, be appointed to the Park and Recreation Commission. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Eggert presented a request from Gerry Rivord, 1845 W. Larpenteur, to <br />park a school bus on Fairview at Larpenteur between the hours of 9:25 and <br />11:25 A.M. and 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Mayor Eggert explained that in the <br />past requests such as these have been denied and recommended that Mr. <br />Rivord obtain permission to park on University property as has been done <br />in .the past. <br />Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that George M. <br />Hansen Company be authorized to prepare the City audit .for 1984. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes explained that the Sheriff's Department cannot <br />have shift changes in Falcon Heights as all deputies must be briefed <br />before going on duty. It is, therefore, necessary that the deputies return <br />to the patrol station. Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember <br />Hard, that the 1985 law enforcement agreement with Ramsey County Sheriff's <br />Department be approved. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented a request from John Sosniecki, former <br />Liquor Store Manager, for severance pay, and recommended two weeks pay as <br />has been given in the past. Councilmember Baldwin felt that the amount <br />should be more generous as private enterprise allows one week per year of <br />service, and that perhaps there should be an established policy on severance <br />pay. Following a short discussion, the Clerk Administrator was directed to <br />contact other communities and obtain information on severance pay policies. <br />The matter will be discussed again at the November 14, 1984 meeting. <br />Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember Baldwin, that. <br />Katherine Zimmerman's salary be increased to $7.00 per hour as of January <br />1, 1984. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Engineer Schunicht presented the Feasibility Report on the Grove Area Storm <br />Drainage dated October 25, 1984 and reviewed the cause of the problem and FEASIBILIT' <br />possible solutions. Following a discussion of the report, Mayor Eggert REPORT ON <br />moved, seconded by Councilmember Baldwin, that the Feasibility Report be GROVE <br />accepted as prepared by the Engineer. Motion carried unanimously. DRAINAGE <br />APPROVED <br />Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember Baldwin, that <br />Resolution 84-40 be adopted setting a public hearing for December 12, 1984 <br />at 7:15 P.M. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
