FROM PARK
AND REC.
Engineer Schunicht reviewed in detail his September 20, 1985 letter
regarding the Tatum/Lindig storm sewer and brought Council up to TATUM/LINDIG
date on the present and future of the storm sewer. He commented on STORM SEWER
consequences of not .installing the storm sewer. (1) residents do not
like the present easement situation, (2) residents do not like the unslightly
condition of the pipe in their yards, and (3) possible problems with the
University by discharging too much water. He suggested obtaining easements
from residents with construction work to begin this fall or early spring.
Councilmembers Baldwin and Ciernia felt that clear communications with
the residents of the area needs to be initiated before the project can
be given the go-ahead. The Stowman easement situation should be completed.
Councilmember Hard also suggested the Engineer determine were the pipe
would be placed in the ground so that perennials are not disturbed as well
as where the dirt will be stored. Councilmember Baldwin felt strongly
that first communications with the residents must be established and
negotiations be made later. Mayor Eggert suggested the Engineer contact
Mr. Stowman to set a meeting with the Clerk Administrator, Engineer,
and Mayor to negotiate the easement. He also suggested that the Engineer
draft an informational letter addressing the issues (which should include
a map) to start communications with the residents.
LEO AND JEAN
Mayor Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Oiernia, to appoint Leo OHMAN, 1635
and Jean Ohman, 1635 Garden Avenue, to the Parks and Recreation GARDEN
Commission.
