RENOVATION <br />Council agreed. DEFERRED <br />Mayor Warkentien opened for discussion the matter of increasing Council COUNCIL <br />salaries. Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert, SALARY <br />that Ordinance X181 be adopted increasing the salary of the Mayor to INCREASE <br />$315.00 per month and the salary for the Councilmembers to $250.00 per <br />month effective January 1, 1982. Upon a vote being taken the follow- <br />ing voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele, <br />Brown and Eggert, and the following voted against the same: Council- <br />member Larson. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE X181 ORDINANCE <br />~~ 181 <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF THE MAYOR AND <br />COUNCILMEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />FALCON HEIGHTS AND REPEALING ORDINANCES 130, 143 <br />AND 167. <br />Councilmember Larson requested that the matter of License Fees be ~,ICENSE FEES <br />deferred until the meeting of August 12, 1981. Council agreed. DEFERRED <br />Engineer Lemberg informed Council that he, Clerk Administrator Barnes, LAKE OVERFLOW <br />and Attorney Allen attended a meeting at 10:00 a.m., July 15, 1981, UPDATE <br />with representatives of Metropolitan Council, Metropolitan Waste Con- <br />trol Commission, City of St. Paul, and other suburban communities in- <br />volved in the lake overflow controversy. At that meeting the Engineer <br />and Attorney stressed that sharing the cost of the overflow treat- <br />ment will not solve the problem but that the St. Paul storm and sani- <br />tary sewers must be separated as a permanent solution. Both were of <br />the opinion that the Metro Council representatives have been convinced <br />that the suburbs are unified and that an attempt to find a permanent <br />solution must be instigated. Upon Attorney Allen's suggestion, Council <br />directed Clerk Administrator Barnes and Engineer Lemberg to draft a <br />letter to Metropolitan Council explaining the City's position on the <br />overflow matter. <br />A letter from Dr. David French, City Horticulturist, explaining the DR.
