MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 12, 1981 <br />PAGE 2 <br />~~ <br />3. St. Marys, Fry, Maple Knoll Drive and Garden Avenue west of Snelling STATE FAIR <br />4. Fairview Avenue 1,300 feet north of Larpenteur Ave. on both sides POSTING <br />5. North of Larpenteur, between Snelling and Hamline running to Garden (cont.) <br />6. Tatum 1,300 feet north of Larpenteur <br />7. Lindig St. on water side, including cul-de-sac <br />8. Larpenteur Ave. from Snelling to Cleveland <br />Upon a vote being taken the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a variance request from Paul Baehr, 1746 Holton, to <br />place a driveway on the vacated walkway as close to the south line as <br />possible. Clerk Administrator Barnes explained that Mr. Baehr did not <br />attend the Planning Commission meeting on August 10, 1981, and therefore, <br />that body took no action. Attorney Allen stated that the City cannot grant <br />any variance on the property until ownership is definitely established. The <br />Clerk Administrator was directed to draft a letter explaining to Mr. Baehr <br />that Council is not in a position to take any action until title is decided <br />by the court. <br />BAEHR <br />VARIANCE <br />REQUEST- <br />NO ACTION <br />UNTIL OWNER <br />SHIP IS <br />ESTABLISHED <br />Mayor Warkentien presented a Conditional Use Request from John Welsch, WELSCH, <br />1915 Arona, to locate a futility shed in the pool area at his residence. 1915 ARONA <br />At the August 10th Planning Commission Meeting, that body unanimously UTILITY SHE: <br />recommended approval. Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Council- APPROVAL <br />member Brown, that the request be granted. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Attorney Allen presented for consideration the proposed ordinance <br />prohibiting unauthorized parking on driveways and private property. <br />Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert that <br />Ordinance #182 be adopted and authorized publication of the same. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE #182 ORDINANCE <br />#182 <br />AN ORDINANCEAMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 115 OF THE CITY <br />OF FALCON HEIGHTS REGULATING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES <br />WITHIN THE CITY <br />Attorney Allen distributed copies of the proposed Non-Profit Gambling <br />Ordinance and a summary which was prepared for publication. Council- <br />member Steele objected to the sexist language in the ordinance and the <br />Attorney agreed to correct the wording. Councilmember Steele moved, <br />seconded by Councilmember Brown, that Ordinance 4183 be adopted with <br />the stipulated re-wording.. Motion carr~ed unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE #183 ORDINANCE <br />#~ 183 <br />_ AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SYS'PEM FOR THE LICENSING <br />OF CERTAIN NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO OPERATE CERTAIN <br />GAMBLING DEVICES AND CONDUCT RAFFLES PURSUANT TO MINN. <br />STAT. 349.26 . <br />The matter of an appropriate license fee for:the ordinance was discussed, LICENSE FE' <br />after which Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, FOR GAMBLIr <br />that the license fee be set at $25.00 per event. Motion carried unani- SET AT <br />mously. $25.00 <br />
