(cont.) <br />Attorney Swanson informed Council that he had drafted a proposed amend- PROPOSED <br />ment to MN Statutes 1980, Section 37.21 (pertaining to the State Fair) AMENDMENT TO <br />to include the language in 340.14 under which the City established liquor MN STATUTES <br />sales within ~ mile of the Fairgrounds. Attorney Swanson stated he still felt it was best to amend <br />37.21 to make it read the same as the general law. Following a discussion <br />Council directed the Clerk Administrator. to forward a copy of the proposed <br />amendment and a copy of Attorney Swanson's letter oi° April 5, 1982 to the <br />State Fair for review. <br />Mayor Warkentien drew attention to a letter from County Engineer Kenneth REMOVAL OF <br />Weltzin advising Council that it has been determined that the temporary 4 WAY STOP <br />4 way stop at Roselawn and CL~veland is not warranted at this time. AT ROSELAWN <br />Council discussed the matter at length after which Councilmember Larson & CLEVELAND <br />moved, seconded by Councilmember l;ggert, that the Clerk Administrator DISCUSSED <br />draft a letter to Mr, Weltzin stressing the fact that the City desires <br />the 4 way stop to remain and explaining the reasons for the request, such <br />as proximity to the park, the possibility of a street exiting on Cleveland, <br />etc. Motion carried un:.uiimously. Councilmember Larson will personally <br />contact members of the Ram•~ey County Board of Conunissioners. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested authorization to pay Robert 0. $36,829.60 <br />Westlund Construction Company $36,829.60 (partial payment on City Ha11 PAYMENT TO <br />construction p-oject). Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember WESTLUND CON ST <br />Larson, that the request be granted. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVED <br />Engineer Lemberg gave au update on the progress of the City Hall con- <br />struction and Mayor Warkentien commented on the possible access of <br />a road to Cleveland and assured that the matter is still being con- <br />sidered by the University of Minnesota, <br />Council discussed the. fact that American. Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by SITE <br />Councilmember Eggert, that the Clerlc administrator contact American <br />Shelter and request that the sign be removed and that the contractor <br />be contacted regarding a City Hall sigrY. Motion .carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien presented a request from Gene Gasparro of the Lido LIllO CAFE <br />Cafe requesting permission to begin Sunday ]_quor Sales at 10:00 a.m. REQUEST TO <br />rather than. 12:00 noon as the ordinance presently :_illuws. The reason START SUNDAY <br />for the request: was that plans have been made. to serve Sunday brunch LIQUOR SALES <br />and the abi'~.y to sei_L liquor would br advantageous. Councilmember AT 10:00 A.M. <br />Larson mu~~-u, seconded by Councilmember Ciclrna, that the request be GRANTED <br />granted. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
