. ail <br />[] <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 8, 1982 <br />PAGE !1 <br />RESOLUTION 82-l~0 <br />A RESOLUTION ON THE DEATH OF WAYZATA POLICE OFFICER <br />JAMES ANDERSON <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes explained that the Fire Department will no <br />longer need the hose dryer due t o the fact that the new building has a <br />hose tower, and requested authorization to transfer that dryer to the <br />maintenance department and advertise for sale the maintenance department <br />dryer. Councilmmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, <br />that the request be granted. Motion carried unanimously. Council- <br />member Larson requested that the Clerk Administrator check to see who <br />paid for the dryer in the Fire Department as she felt the Fire Department <br />should receive the money if they purchased it with their funds. <br />RESOLUTION <br />#82-40 <br />SPARE HOSE <br />DRYER TO BE <br />ADVERTISED <br />FOR SALE <br />Councilmember Eggert commented on the proposed cable television franchise CABLE TV <br />ordinance and requested that Council review it prior to considering UPDATE <br />adoption of the ordinance. <br />sophistocated public access system, it would not be reasonable to reject <br />the five percent at this time. <br />In reply to a question from Mayor Warkentien, Councilmember Eggert ex- <br />plained that nine of the ten communities are in favor of the five percent <br />fee which must be used entirely for cable purposes rather than the three <br />percent fee which may be used for any purpose. Councilmember Eggert stated <br />he preferred the five percent fee as accepting the three percent and using <br />it for purposes other than cable would destroy the carefully set up public <br />access fund. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council then continued the Cable TV discussion. CABLE T~I <br />DISCUSSION <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes inquired as to whether or not any of the other CONTINUED <br />communities are considering cable connection fees. Councilmember Eggert <br />replied he was not aware of any such discussion but would check on the <br />matter. <br />Councilmember Eggert moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that the City <br />Attorney be authorized to prepare an appropriate ordinance for adoption <br />of the Cable TV franchise. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
