H -3e presented tree Affidavit of <br />Publication, Affidavit of Pc sting and Certificate of T~.ailir~g. <br />James T~iaenr~er, First National. Dank of H ~d.nneapolis, informed that the <br />Estate does not have a specific use for the property at this time, but <br />are requesting rezeni rte; for the follo~^.n~; reasor_s: (1) to clarify the <br />current zoning situation, which is not. three separate classifications, <br />B-lA, Ft-2 and H t-l; (2) it would be compat.ibl_e with the neighboring <br />properties; and (3) rezoning to B-lA at this time would establisr~ the use <br />for the future. It would benefit the City as it would provide a higher <br />ta:~ base, allows the Estate more flexibility in marketing the property, <br />and x:3.11 eliminate any future conflict acid proble?r,s that might arise. <br />Walter Northrup, 191.12 Summer Street, felt that the citizens and the <br />Council should recognize tH -.at in appro~>ing 'the rezoning, the City is <br />allowing the land to be used for whatever the busy>er may choose. He <br />pointed out that this is adjacent to Cit~> property and the City would <br />loose control over the property if it is rezoned. <br />rH ark Ascerno, 18?1 Tatum,, felt the Estate would gain flexibility by the <br />rezoning and the City would le se flexibility . Therefore, he objected to <br />the rezoning at this time. <br />rlarald Nilsen, 1_?9;~ Tatum, felt the First Nats.onal Bank had been candid <br />with the reasons for the rezoning a.nd that K-1. and H-2 zoning is no longer <br />realistic for this property. <br />Say>or y~~arkentien reminded the people in attendance that t~~hen American <br />:ihelterts plan for deve~_apment was considered, the Falcon tivoods residents <br />felt that development in tree nature of another Hez~.lett-Packard T,~ould be <br />desirable. 3y approving the rezoning and maki.tig the property viable for <br />sale would provide this opportunity.
