MINUTES REGULAR C~~Y'COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 8, 1978 Page 5 Acting Mayor Black discussed the possibility of the tennis courts on Falcon Heights School property. If Falcon Heights were to get involved with this project, there is a possibility of state funding available for this. Current state funding at 50o is committed for 1978. Clerk Administrator Barnes is continuing to check on the state funding availability. No action taken, discussion tabled. Councilman Steele brought out for discussion the land- scaping of City Hall and make known where we are located such as a sign out front. Clerk Administrator Barnes suggested several plans that could be taken under con- sideration all at a reasonable cost. However, any plans would have to take into consideration the Fire Dept. so as not to obstruct their vision of Larpenteur Avenue when. going out on a call. A low shrub or flowering bush surronding the sign was discussed, a variety that would not require planting each year. Councilman Steele suggested allocating $1,500 - $2,000 for the project. It was suggested that pictures be taken of various city halls in the metro area and see what they have done to enhance their grounds. No action taken, discussion tabled. ig TENNIS COURTS. SCHOOL GROUNDS LANDSCAPING CITY HALL GROUNDS Engineer Brad Lemberg reported on his meeting with ROSELAWN AVE. Roseville regarding the upgrading of Roselawn Ave. The DESIGNATION Roseville Manager, Engineer , Clerk Administrator Barnes. and Ramsey County Engineer also attended the meeting. They came to an agreement to recommend designating Rose- lawn Avenue, Snelling to Cleveland. Two resolutions will have to be drawn up for designation of the street and revoke designation from another to pick up an additional 4 mile. Falcon Heights is requesting sidewalks and/or bike paths on the south side, this will come out of the Falcon Heights MSA funds, the county will pay for the center 24', Falcon Heights will pick up the sidewalk costs. The rest of the cost will be split between Roseville and Falcon Heights. In addition we will have to obtain from the University 3' of right-of-way along the south side of Roselawn Avenue. Acting Mayor Black moved adoption of Resolution 78-6, seconded by Councilman Steele. RESOLUTION 78-6 A RESOLUTION REVOKING CERTAIN DESIG- NATED STATE AID STREETS PASCAL-HOYT TO LARPENTEUR AVENUE Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor Black, Councilmembers McGough, Steele and Brown the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Mayor Warkentien absent.
