<br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR C~~Y'COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 8, 1978 <br />Page 5 <br />Acting Mayor Black discussed the possibility of the <br />tennis courts on Falcon Heights School property. If <br />Falcon Heights were to get involved with this project, <br />there is a possibility of state funding available for <br />this. Current state funding at 50o is committed for <br />1978. Clerk Administrator Barnes is continuing to <br />check on the state funding availability. No action <br />taken, discussion tabled. <br />Councilman Steele brought out for discussion the land- <br />scaping of City Hall and make known where we are located <br />such as a sign out front. Clerk Administrator Barnes <br />suggested several plans that could be taken under con- <br />sideration all at a reasonable cost. However, any plans <br />would have to take into consideration the Fire Dept. so <br />as not to obstruct their vision of Larpenteur Avenue <br />when. going out on a call. A low shrub or flowering <br />bush surronding the sign was discussed, a variety that <br />would not require planting each year. Councilman Steele <br />suggested allocating $1,500 - $2,000 for the project. <br />It was suggested that pictures be taken of various city <br />halls in the metro area and see what they have done to <br />enhance their grounds. No action taken, discussion <br />tabled. <br />ig <br />TENNIS COURTS. <br />SCHOOL GROUNDS <br />LANDSCAPING <br />CITY HALL <br />GROUNDS <br />Engineer Brad Lemberg reported on his meeting with ROSELAWN AVE. <br />Roseville regarding the upgrading of Roselawn Ave. The DESIGNATION <br />Roseville Manager, Engineer , Clerk Administrator Barnes. <br />and Ramsey County Engineer also attended the meeting. <br />They came to an agreement to recommend designating Rose- <br />lawn Avenue, Snelling to Cleveland. Two resolutions will <br />have to be drawn up for designation of the street and revoke <br />designation from another to pick up an additional 4 mile. <br />Falcon Heights is requesting sidewalks and/or bike paths <br />on the south side, this will come out of the Falcon Heights <br />MSA funds, the county will pay for the center 24', Falcon <br />Heights will pick up the sidewalk costs. The rest of the <br />cost will be split between Roseville and Falcon Heights. <br />In addition we will have to obtain from the University 3' <br />of right-of-way along the south side of Roselawn Avenue. <br />Acting Mayor Black moved adoption of Resolution 78-6, <br />seconded by Councilman Steele. <br />RESOLUTION 78-6 <br />A RESOLUTION REVOKING CERTAIN DESIG- <br />NATED STATE AID STREETS PASCAL-HOYT <br />TO LARPENTEUR AVENUE <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting <br />Mayor Black, Councilmembers McGough, Steele and Brown the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Mayor <br />Warkentien absent. <br />
