MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 12, 1978 <br />Page 12 <br />Mayor Warkentien brought before council the dis- <br />cussion of the Falcon Heights School warming house <br />problems that had been tabled from the Mar.. 22, 1978 <br />meeting. There had been a very high rate of van- <br />dalizam there. Councilmember Brown expressed her <br />view, she would hate to see it closed, there is <br />considerable usage of the rink. Mayor Warkentien <br />suggested the Recreation Advisory Committee look <br />into and discuss the situation. Discussion tabled. <br />Mayor Warkentien reported on the new liquor store <br />report as submitted by Yellen 8 Assoc. from the <br />computer printout. Council discussed the figures <br />shown on the report. Council requested Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes to check the various break- <br />downs on the reports. Discussion tabled pending <br />further information. <br />~~A <br />CON HEIGHTS <br />SOOL WARMING <br />HOUSE <br />JANUARY 1978 <br />LIQUOR STORE <br />DISCUSSION <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented the State Aid STATE AID POLICE <br />report on Police proctection. Falcon Heights share CONTRACT <br />of State funds will be $8,051.95, which will be <br />applied to our policing contract. This is the first <br />time we have received this. <br />Fire Chief Jerry Renchin requested authorization <br />to put the old fire rig up for sale, the new truck <br />will go into service within the week. The salesman <br />who sold us the new truck has two fairly firm leads <br />on some communities that are interested in the truck. <br />Engineer Lemberg noted that Somerset, Wisc. was on <br />the market for used fire equipment. The department <br />is requesting at least $7,000 to $8,000 for the equip- <br />ment. This will cover the "B" bid monies that are <br />needed. Mayor Warkentien moved to have the Clerk <br />Administrator advertise for bids for the old fire <br />rig, Councilman Black seconded. Upon a vote being <br />taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmernbers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown, the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />The fire department is planning on sending two or <br />three members to the Minnesota State Fire School, <br />May 19 through 21, 1978 at the State Fairgrounds. <br />Fire Chief Renchin is looking mainly at rookies <br />to attend classes and pumping classes. The new <br />equipment will be on display, but will be posi- <br />tioned in such a manner as to be available for <br />calls. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />REPORT - <br />JERRY RENCHIN <br />FIRE SCHOOL <br />STATE FAIRGROUNDS <br />MAY 1978 <br />Fire Chief Renchin discussed the damage of the side <br />door of the fire station, as it is in need of re- <br />placement or repair. The door was damaged by the <br />truck backing into the stall, the door had slid <br />down a few inches. Replacement of the door was <br />recommended over repair of the panel. A new door <br />would cost $512.00, to replace by section, $145 per <br />section. The price of replacement is half the regular <br />price as the company had the door on hand from a prior <br />FIRE STATION SIDE <br />DOOR DAMAGE REPORT <br />
