MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 12, 1978 <br />Page 14 <br />Councilman McGough reported that the fire truck was <br />being fitted with the ladder rack and mount. His <br />firm is doing the cutting and fitting. The work has <br />been donated by McGough Construction. <br />Councilman McGough reported he had met with Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes regarding the sign for City Hall. <br />He also talked with Mr Don Bemer, Shaw Lumber and they <br />have cut the price for cedar boards (2x12's) to a cost <br />of $182.00, The sign will be routed out by McGough <br />Construction and again at no cost to the city of Falcon <br />Heights. <br />Councilmember Brown reported on the recreation program <br />and again we are having a problem getting the girls <br />softball teams into a league. Lil Duethmann and <br />Councilmember Brown approached the community schools <br />program for help in locating a ,league to join. We <br />can get into Maplewood League, but it is a long way <br />out there. At the next meeting they will be putting <br />together something for the girls. <br />[' <br /> <br />5 ~' <br />FIRE TRUCK <br />LADDER RACK <br />CITY HALL SIGN <br />RECREATION. <br />PROGRAM <br />Mayor Warkentien moved seconded by Councilman Steele MEETING <br />to extend the meeting to 11:15 p.m. Upon a vote being EXTENSION <br />taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Councilmember Brown discussed the letter received from <br />MTC concerning the bus shelters for Falcon Heights. <br />They stated in their letter we should contact them <br />by May 1, 1978 regarding shelters for this area. A <br />shelter was suggested for the stop at GTA, but we do <br />not meet the required 40 people a day at the stop. <br />No action taken. <br />Councilmember Brown brought up the problem of motor <br />bikes being ridden on the school grounds while children <br />are playing and causing a hazard. After the police are <br />notified and the time they get there the bikes are gone. <br />It was suggested the police be contacted for patrol <br />after school hours and around dusk. Councilman McGough <br />will check into the problem being the council's liaison <br />to the police department. <br />MTC BUS <br />SHELTER <br />MOTOR BIKES ON <br />SCHOOL GROUNDS <br />Mayor Warkentien moved seconded by Councilman Steele MEETING <br />to extend the meeting to 11:30. p. m. Upon a vote being EXTENSION <br />taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />
