MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 12, 1978 <br />Page 2 <br />Engineer Lemberg reported they had excellent co~ <br />operation on the Hollywood Court project. Quantities <br />used for Hollywood Court were: bituminous 210 tan <br />estimated, actual 225 ton, concrete curb & gutter, <br />estimated 1,305 ft, actual 1,335 ft., the excavation <br />orginally estimated at 700 cu. yds., actual 400 cam,. yds. <br />So all the quantities were close to the estimate and <br />in some cases under. The alley portion was slightly <br />.over, a couple bad spots caused removal of extra <br />material, to make the alley last longer. The gravel <br />base ran slightly under. Materials used came very <br />close to the estimated quantities. Engineer Lemberg <br />invited any questions on the completed project. <br />Mayor Warkentien reported the council had walked the <br />Hollywood Court project on April 3rd, 1978 and was <br />pleased with the results: <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed interested parties <br />that the assessment could be paid within 30 days with- <br />out an interest charge, prior to submitting the assess- <br />ment to the County Auditors office, or they could let <br />it run to full term as set by council at an 8o interest <br />rate on the unpaid balance. <br />Councilman McGough moved, seconded by Councilman Black <br />that the assessment roll for the improvements of 1977 <br />on Hollywood Court be adopted and that the assessment <br />be spread over a ten year period. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following .voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien reminded the audience the assessment <br />could be paid within the next 30 days at City Hall, <br />after which it will be filed at the county auditors <br />office downtown. Mayor Warkentien thanked the people <br />in attendance for their cooperation during the improve- <br />ment project. <br />Attorney Kenefick reported to the people in attendance <br />that they do have 20 days to file notice of appeal in <br />district court according to state statutes, if there <br />is an objection to the amount assessed. <br />4 <br />Mayor Warkentien discussed the spring clean-up dates SPRING CLEAN- <br />for Falcon Heights residents. It was suggested that UP DATE <br />May 6 through May 14, 1978 would be suitable. Council- <br />man McGough moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien to <br />approve the above dates. Upon a vote being taken, the <br />following voted "aye1°: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers <br />Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />
