MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 12, 1978 <br />Page 3 <br />Council discussed with residents their problems <br />concerning the clean-up dump site. It was suggested <br />by some residents to move the dump to another area <br />and not use the present site. It was decided by <br />Council to see how things go this spring, if it is <br />decided there is a problem, a new site will be discussed. <br />Councilman McGough offered to donate a gate for the <br />impounding area. Dr. William Schultz, 1630 Hollywood <br />Court requested we look for another site. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented additional infor- <br />mation regarding the application for a General Corp. <br />license from Howard Merrill as requested by council at <br />the March 22, 1978 meeting. Councilman Black reviewed <br />the information, and explained the company replaces <br />items lost, stolen, etc., as reported by insurance <br />companies. They carry no stock on hand, they order and <br />ship from other. sources. Councilman Black moved approval <br />of General Corporate License #447 (new) for Howard <br />Merrill, Inc. 1550 W. Larpenteur, seconded by Council- <br />man Steele. Upon a vote being taken the following voted <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, <br />Steele and Brown the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented a quotation from <br />Flexible Pipe Tool Company for a sanitary sewer roder. <br />With the purchase fo the machine we would not have to <br />hire outside help to maintain the city's main sewer <br />lines, and will enable us to maintain our system at <br />a lower cost. The total cost of the equipment is <br />$5,145.00. Mayor Warkentien moved approval of the <br />purchasing of the sanitary sewer roder at $5,145.00 <br />subject to other quotations being received, seconded <br />by Councilperson Brown. Upon a vote being taken the <br />following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers <br />Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Engineer Brad Lemberg reported that we had sent in a <br />request for designation of Roselawn Avenue for State <br />Aid, and taking the designation off Pascal, between <br />Hoyt to Larpenteur, adding the designation to Roselawn, <br />Cleveland to Snelling Avenue. This was approved by <br />the Commissioner of Transportation, authorizing <br />the change and designating Roselawn a joint municipal <br />state aid street. We can go ahead with the plans to <br />up grade Roselawn Avenue, joining with Roseville and <br />Ramsey County on their portion of Roselawn Avenue. <br />Councilman Steele questioned whether public hearings <br />would have to be held prior to construction on Rose- <br />lawn Avenue. Engineer Lemberg suggested that an <br />informational meeting be held to inform the people on <br />Roselawn Avenue what is being proposed and get their <br />input.
