MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEE'T'ING <br />MAY 10, 1978 <br />Page 2 <br />Mayor Warkentien called to order a public hearing at LABALESTRA <br />8:07 p.m. to consider the Labalestra Park Sub-division PARK SUB- <br />request. Mr. Mike Labalestra presented plans and survey DIVISION <br />for consideration by Council. Councilmember Black reported PUBLIC <br />the Planning Commission had recommended approval of the HEARING <br />sub-division as presented to them at their last meeting. <br />Councilmember Black moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough <br />to adopt the following resolution. <br />RESOLUTION 78-15 <br />1 <br />`1 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING FRANCES LABALESTRA <br />et'als REQUEST FOR A SUB-DIVISION OF THE <br />SAID PROPERTY, LOTS 13 & 14 BLOCK l OF <br />LABLAESTRA PARK <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and <br />Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Fire Chief Renchin discussed a problem on the N.E. corner FIRE DEPT. <br />of Snelling and Larpenteur, behind Flower City. With the REPORT <br />junk, boxes and a truck parked in the rear it causes a fire <br />hazard. The rear fire exit is blocked and there is not <br />enough room for fire crews to get through to the boiler <br />room area in case of fire. The truck has been tagged several <br />times, but the fines have been paid and violations still <br />persist. The "No Parking" sign has been removed and Flower <br />City has become a weekly inspection due to the problems <br />there. Council recommended the owner of the business be <br />contacted and not the manager. Councilman Steele moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Black that a letter be written <br />requesting the area be posted and maintained, enclosing <br />copies of Ordinances 13, 20 and 83. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following voted "aye":. Mayor Warkentien, Council- <br />members Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following <br />voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Fire Chief Renchin reported there was a good turn out at OPEN HOUSE <br />the Open House held May 7, 1978, over 300 people attended. FIRE DEPT. <br />Councilmember Steele noted the Pothen home that was burned <br />down recently is posing a hazard due to the open basement NICK POTHEN <br />area. It was suggested Mr. Pothen be notified and the area PROPERTY <br />cleaned up and posted. <br />Fire Chief Renchin informed council the new officers for <br />1978 were elected at their May 9, 1978 meeting. <br />NEW CAPTAINS ---- <br />LTS. --- <br />Don Pantzar, Leo Lindig <br />John Holmgren, Ralph Dowdell <br />NEW OFFICERS <br />1978 FIRE <br />DEPT. <br />
