~1 _~ 1 0 MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 26, 1978 Page 7 Discussion was held by council regarding the 1978 and 1979 tree planting program. Clerk Administrator Barnes was directed to invite Dr. French to the August 9, 1978 council meeting. Attorney Kenefick informed council he had drafted an agreement for Westlund Construction.~~ Mr. Westlund informed Attorney Kenefick that he had. not~agreed_. to the proposal to discontinue commercial use of the property after June 1, 1979, he said he had agreed to .clean up the premises but he would not discontinue the use of the property, therefore he will not sign the agreement. The lot has been cleaned up. Attorney Kenefick reviewed council action taken May 24, 1978. Council directed Attorney Kenefick to proceed with the issuance of tags in accordance with Ordinance No. 83. Councilman Black brought out for discussion building plans submitted by an electronics firm that is contem- plating a move to Falcon Heights. Council directed the City Engineer and City Attorney to write Heelett Packard Corp. and outline the feeling of the council and what would be required for the construction. Councilmember Black moved the plans submitted by Hewlett Packard Corp. be referred to the City Engineer and City Attorney for consideration of zoning to review the plans. Councilmember McGough seconded. Upon a vote being taken the following voted ^aye^: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following voted ^nay^: None. Motion carried. Councilmember McGough brought council up to date regarding the U. of M• lighted fields. The final recommendation of the committee is lighted recrea- tional fields west of Cleveland Avenue, north of the Gibbs Farm, with parking being shared with the Gibbs property, four lighted ball fields, soccer field and equipment shed and restroom facilities.. 115 TREE PLANTING PROGRAM WESTLUND CONSTRUCTION HEWLETT PACKARD CORP. Motion carried. Engineer Lemberg noted Attorney Kenefick had drawn EASEMENT AGREEMENT up a temporary construction easement for Stephen B. and Susan J. Brandt who are the property owners at the S.W. corner of the intersection of Snelling and Roselaww t a ca~r~lete the Roselawn Avenue project east of the university property. Engineer Lemberg requested authorization to meet with the Brandts to review the construction easement in consideration of $1.00, with no assessment to the property. Councilmember
